Quince Leskovačka

Leskovac quince is a domestic variety, dominant in Vojvodina and the valleys of Velika, Juzna and Zapadna Morava. People call it quince, while Vranje quince is often called quince. Its fruits are large, round, apple, ribbed or flat, with an exceptional aroma. The skin is smooth, light yellow, and at full ripening a distinctly yellow color, like lemon. The flesh of the fruit is aromatic, juicy, sour-sweet. The tree has a round crown, lush, but after ripening the fruit is medium lush. It blooms late and ripens during October. It is resistant to frost, but sensitive to insect pests. It is pollinated by Vranjska dunja.
